At the gates of the city there are several villages to explore, take advantage of warm weather to pay a visit to Viterbo and have a lunch chez Ristorante Pizzeria Da Gianfranco.
Here you will taste all the basic dishes of traditional cuisine of High -Tuscia that over the years has strongly absorbed some influences of Tuscan cuisine. The Ristorante Pizzeria Da Gianfranco is located in Viterbo Acquapendente on Bourbon del Monte Square, the closing day is Monday and the restaurant will be closed two weeks between the months of June and July.
It is a family restaurant, efficiency and courtesy are its basic rules. The menu is extensive: mixed crostini, mountain ham hand cut; truffle tagliatelle, pappardelle with wild boar sauce, fettuccine with duck sauce, risotto with nettles and mushrooms; pici all’aglione, meat cooked on the grill … lamb sausage, stewed venison, pork and sour.
Even the desserts are incredible, great is the classic tiramisu and trifle recalls ancient flavors.

If you want to taste the Roman cuisine, treated in a very refined and elegant setting, you can choose to dine at “Agata e Romeo“, in Via Carlo Alberto, now surrounded by local gastronomic restaurant in the name of ethnicity, where you can try as many as five different dishes made with cod, typical food kitchen Capitoline.

From experience, however, among the starters, the tart pecorino cheese with chestnut honey, how between the cakes, puff pastry Agata, workhorse dessert menu in the restaurant since its opening.

The restaurant is elegant without being too demanding, has an average cost per person of little more than a hundred euros, but the food is really good.

If you want to opt for Roman cuisine in a setting much more informal, you can go to the classic “Giggetto the portico of Octavia,” a local family for a more casual dinner, offering all kinds of dishes on the menu the cuisine of the capital, with costs that do not reach the fifty euros each and a rare ability to make light any kind of food capitol. Equally true and equally well known and familiar atmosphere, although over the years has turned into a place a little ‘more formal than the beginning, “The Sora Lella”, now managed by his son and grandchildren, maintains a tradition of local cuisine much high level, at a cost ranging between forty and fifty euros each.

But Rome is also the home of pizza and low scrocchiarella, and pizzerias, with much lower costs, are everywhere: high to San Lorenzo “The cantina del grillo“, pretty local overlooking Via de ‘Messapi, characterized by interior wood and clay, with beams and an oven with the shovel in sight, where you can taste all kinds of round pizza, fried and toasted bread, among which, to be missed, the one with cherry peppers.

Can you finish your meal without tasting the famous Roman pastry? Absolutely not …. run to the Dolce Roma pastry shop and let go….

But there are hypnotic perfumes, rich and delicious meals, warm and true welcoming atmosphere.
Good kitchen restaurants in Rome are far from touristy places. Here some places where to find them: in Viale Angelico there is the Giacomelli restaurant (25, Emilio Faà di Bruno street), attended from a lot of celebrities of the Capital, it is the best if you like fish; in Ostiense there is the Olio Sale e Pepe restaurant (5, Giovanni da Empoli street), which offers seasonal products delights, a grate Roman pizza and pleasant hospitality; in Trastevere there is the Due Ciccioni tavern (3, vicolo del Cedro), open in warm season, that have only one large table on the street, and serve only what the chief want to cook.
But greedy people could have fun testing unknown taverns in Ponte Milvio, around Via Flaminia, or near the Saint Paul Basilica. For a different holiday discovering the true City of Rome, you could reserve an accommodation in Rome and ask to your hosts for unknown typical restaurants in zone.

If you love Brazilian food, Rome has restaurants where will find the best Brazilian meals.

The Churrascaria Toro Seduto is located in Via Lidia 40/42 the St. John Basilica, very centrally located and convenient to reach. Book a Bed & Breakfast Rome Appio and enjoy an exotic meal in the oldest western town!

Churrascaria Toro Seduto can accommodate up to 100 seats, serving authentic and genuine Brazilian cuisine, the typical churrasco rodizio and to the famous feijoada. For the Brazilian Gauchos (cowboys of a sort of south of Brazil) the Churrasco is their signature dish, which consists of grilled meat cooked with salt grease on the great spit. The type of meat can range from beef to chicken, pork and lamb by the cut of meat is also very important. The churrasco is usually accompanied by vegetables, or even more white rice (arroz pack) or the more classic pairing is with feijoada. The term of this dish comes from feijão which means bean. It is a typical Portuguese recipe that Brazilians have made their own, but is cooked in very different ways between Portugal and Brazil, so much so that the Brazilian it is often called feijoada à brasileira. The ingredients are blacks or browns beans, beef, pork and many spices. Although it is difficult to find a unique recipe for feijoada, it seems that the real secret is the long cooking time which makes it very easy to digest contrary to what you think by reading the ingredients!

Today we speak of a restaurant not located in downtown Rome, but in the Montesacro neighbourhood north of the Rome:
Here you will find what used to be a former stables, the pizza restaurant is called Il Ferro al nuovo maneggio.

The menu has a few things to mainly classic Roman pizza, thin, cracked, but very, very delicious. You will also find the skewers as appetizers, meat and fish, and a series of savoury bruschette.

If you have already booked one of the many accommodations in Rome located in Montesacro, stop by the restaurant and discover that cost of a meal is very reasonable and that the place is beautiful especially in summer, thanks to the large open area, the stables and horses, but also in winter is an ideal place with its two floors and large panoramic windows!

Gioia Mia Pisciapiano. Located in Via degli Avignonesi a small street off Piazza Barberini, this restaurant is one of my favorites. I have always eaten well, the portions are plentiful, and the price for an appetizer, 2 / 1, quart of wine and water is 30 euros. Good value for money, in other places you risk to be plucked! Closed on Sundays!

I had also had a great meal, tonnarelli cheese and pepper, a phenomenal amatriciana and a delicious tiramisu at the restaurant Felice a Testaccio, Via Mastrogiorgio. A reservation is needed you is because it is always full on any day of the week you go, except on Sundays when it is closed! It is slightly more expensive than others but well worth it.

As third option I suggest the restaurant Trilussa in Trastevere, there have never been but I was told that it is very good, both for the first courses as well as for the abbacchio (lamb )!
For lunch try the famous bakery in the Piazza del Campo, delicious slices of pizza, bread with mortadella, fried vegetables and much more!
Enrich your Roman holidays staying with bbitalia.it and having very good meals!
